You keep finding yourself in the same place.
Same feelings. Same reactions. Same loop.
There is a reason — and a way through.
I’m Pamela, a counsellor and practitioner of Romiromi and Mirimiri —traditional Māori healing arts. I work with women ready to explore and understand the roots of their patterns, gently guiding them toward meaningful change.
Does any of this sound familiar?
“I keep reacting the same way, even though I know better.”
“I feel a heaviness in my body but I can’t explain why.”
“My mind won’t stop going around in circles — I just want it to be quiet.”
“I’ve spoken to someone before, but nothing seems to actually shift.”
“I know something is holding me back. I just can’t name what it is.”
“I want to understand my own emotions — not just survive them.”
If you recognise yourself here, you are in the right place. This is exactly the work I do — helping women understand what is underneath these patterns, and find their way through them.
Many women find themselves going through the same internal cycles — feeling like they are on autopilot, reacting before they have even had a chance to think. Whether it shows up as tension, anxiety, burnout, or that low hum of unease you cannot quite explain, these responses are not a flaw in your character. They are patterns your mind and body learned — often long ago — as a way to protect you.
The problem is that what once kept you safe can start running the show long after the original reason is gone. You find yourself snapping at someone you love, shutting down when you want to speak up, or lying awake with a mind that will not be quiet — and wondering why you keep ending up here.
Your mind and your body are part of the same conversation
Most approaches to wellbeing focus on either the mind or the body—but rarely both together. Talk-based therapy helps you understand your thoughts, but it does not always address what the body is holding. Bodywork addresses physical tension, but without a mental framework, the relief may not last.
Tūāhu Wellness brings both together. Māori bodywork — Romiromi and Mirimiri — combined with counselling practice, this work helps you understand what is happening inside you — and gives you real tools to respond differently, not just in a session room, but in the moments that matter most.
